MERRY CHRISTMAS!

In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He was with God in the beginning.

He was in the world,
and though the world was made through him,
the world did not recognize him.
He came to that which was his own,
but his own did not receive him.
Yet to all who received him,
to those who believed in his name,
he gave the right to become children of God–
children born not of natural descent,
nor of human decision
or a husband's will,
but born of God.

And The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only,
who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

The people walking in darkness
have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death
a light has dawned.

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace
there will be no end.

Hello Jamie
Me again! As I see you are posting at length I gather that you now have more time to spend on the net and I wondered if you might like to answer on behalf of the fundamentalists the question I have asked those of my students who are Christians (I guess about 40%). I don't think any of them share your particular beliefs so it would be interesting to have your viewpoint to compare with theirs.
The question is HERE
